This high quality protein not only boasts an impressive full disclosure label but it also tastes f!#*ing delicious! GHOST stand by their principle of keeping things as simple as possible. Other brands may tend to “get all crazy and overthink their protein”. Not the case with Ghost.
GHOST Whey is a 100% whey protein blend consisting of whey protein isolate, concentrate and hydrolysate. The fully disclosed label means you know exactly how many grams of each type of whey is in every scoop. GHOST Whey Protein Flavours
Choc Chip Cookie
You guessed it – this GHOST whey protein flavour has real chocolate chip cookie pieces just to delight your taste buds even more. A little bit of crunch to this delicious flavour tops it off nicely and will have you downing more than one scoop post-workout.
This one is for all of the cinnamon lovers out there. For most, you either love it or you don’t when it comes to cinnamon. A rather subtle flavour, yet still with that nice cinnamon flavour hit. GHOST have made a good choice here with this addition in the flavour range.
Coconut Ice Cream
There’s something about the creamy and coconutty taste of coconut ice-cream that makes it oh-so moreish. Blend a scoop with a heap of ice and you will have your own home made protein coconut ice cream that tastes just like the real thing.
Frosted Sugar Cookie
Nothing beats a good old sugar cookie. Buttery and delicious and topped with sweet, sugary frosting. Well, hold that thought and that’s Frosted Sugar Cookie in a nutshell. A little on the sweeter side, but certainly a real treat to look forward to especially post-training.
Just like a chocolate milkshake. Ghost couldn’t have done this flavour any more justice. Perfect taste even when just mixed with cold water with just the right amount of sweetness and creaminess.
Blueberry Toaster Pastry
This flavour might have you either cautious or curious to try. Definitely subtle blueberry wise but something along the lines of a Blueberry Pop Tart with actual pastry pieces.
If you have ever tried the American favourite breakfast cereal Cap’n Crunch then cereal milk flavour tastes exactly like the milk left over in your bowl after eating that exact cereal. Sweet, but with a corn flavoured taste to it, cereal milk flavour is just what you would expect it to be.
Coffee Ice Cream
Not many brands seem to do coffee flavoured protein powders. GHOST have done this flavour well and it’s pretty decent when it comes to the coffee taste. If you’re feeling fancy, blend with ice or ice cream and it will be just like a creamy iced coffee.
Fruity Cereal Milk
The old iconic fruit loops that we all ate as kids are still around. Can you remember the leftover fruity and slightly coloured milk after eating your loops? Well similar to the cereal milk flavour, fruity cereal milk is also exactly what you would expect this flavour to be.
Peanut Butter Cereal Milk
GHOST definitely seem to have all tastes covered when it comes to the array of flavour choices. Peanut butter lovers can rejoice with this one! Add a decent spoonful of your favourite PB for some extra fats to this one and blend and you will be in PB heaven.
Key GHOST Whey Protein Ingredients
Whey Protein Isolate
Whey Protein Isolate is the purest and highly filtered form of whey and one of the primary ingredients in GHOST Lifestyle protein powder. There is only as little as 1% lactose in whey protein isolate as the filtration process removes the majority of the lactose making it a great option for those who are sensitive to lactose.
The highest quality isolates contain a minimum of 90% protein and are very easily digested out of all whey protein forms. Isolate has very little fat, carbohydrates and cholesterol and is very low in calories, making it an ideal option when in a dieting phase when retaining muscle mass is imperative.
Whey Protein Concentrate
Whey Protein Concentrate has a higher percentage of lactose than whey protein isolate. Concentrates are generally between 70-80% protein and rich in branches chain amino acids and glutamine. Whey protein concentrate is also high in biologically active components that have numerous beneficial properties, similar to what is found in milk. Concentrate is also still quite low in fat and carbohydrates making it a very beneficial choice when it comes to recovery and building muscle mass.
Hydrolysed Whey Protein Isolate
Hydrolysed whey protein is whey protein isolate that has been hydrolysed. When it comes to fast recovery with little to no digestive discomfort, hydrolysed whey protein is superior. The hydrolysation process means that both the assimilation and digestion of the protein is enhanced to an optimal level for muscle protein synthesis.
What is Sunflower Lecithinated Whey Protein?
Lecithin is a group of fatty substances that can either be derived from soy or sunflower seeds. Many brands tend to use soy lecinhinated whey protein in their blends. GHOST have tried to make their whey protein as allergen free as possible and have used sunflower lecithinated whey protein to create the smooth and creamy texture of the product.
What Makes GHOST Whey Protein Different?
As they say GHOST whey protein is “versatile (and delicious AF). GHOST have kept their formula simple, delicious and effective. It is a well rounded whey protein blend consisting of whey protein isolate, concentrate and hydrolysate.
GHOST have also wanted to stay ahead of the rest and saw a flaw that many other proteins on the market tend to possess. With GHOST opting to use sunflower lecithinated protein rather than soy lecithinated whey protein they have eliminated the potential of phytoestrogens disrupting the body’s natural oestrogen hormones.
Is there a limit to how much GHOST Whey Protein per day that I can consume?
This product can be consumed throughout the day as enjoyed. However, we don’t recommend taking more than three servings a day due to the protein content.
What benefits are there with consuming whey protein?
Protein is an essential macronutrient that is imperative for the body to maintain and repair tissues. Protein is also a source of fuel and stimulates muscle protein synthesis.
GHOST whey protein contains the types of whey protein which all offer numerous health benefits. Supplementing your diet with high-quality whey protein will help blood flow, builds muscle and provides immune system support.
